What’s your connection to the Border?
I moved to the Border over 20 years ago to study teaching at Charles Sturt University. I am currently an Assistant Principal at a local primary school, and my husband and I are raising two amazing boys who enjoy many of the sports and recreation opportunities within our local community. We love the outdoors, camping and fishing, and feel blessed to have so many beautiful places to explore at our doorstep.

What’s your singing/performance background?
Other than the odd night of karaoke, my singing experience is limited to the shower and the car. My mum and her sisters made it to Young Talent Time when they were girls, so I am hoping to channel at least a smidge of their confidence and talent.

What’s your motivation for joining On Key 4 Kids?
Having been in education for over 20 years, I have witnessed many families experience hardship and adversity. I wholeheartedly believe that we should all do our little bit to help where we can, whenever we can. I want to be a role model for my boys and teach them that being able to give to others is a gift, and that having a purpose that is bigger than yourself, keeps you grounded. I feel incredibly vulnerable committing to this experience, but the discomfort I feel caused by my fear will be fleeting compared to the heartache of those impacted by childhood cancer.

What was the first album you ever bought?
At the risk of giving away my age, the first Album I ever purchased was ‘Boyz II Men’. I can still picture myself passionately singing ‘End of the Road’ into my hairbrush in my bedroom.
